Bob was born in Mt. Hope, Prince Edward Island, Canada, in a little room off the kitchen next to Uncle's
still on the family potato farm. He grew up in Townsend, Mass. and took up hockey at age 16 making the
Midget 2 team. Late in season Bob was called up to the number 1 team and almost had his first career goal
into an empty net if not for Bob's hero, Tom Schofield. Tom went end to end and tapped the Bob's shot into
the empty net. What are friends for? Unbeknownst to future teammate and rink manager, Leo Gould, Bob and his friends would rink rat all night at the Civic Center, 11pm-6am Friday and Saturday nights, with a keg of course! They'd do the same thing at all summer at Skate 3 in Tyngsboro. Recruited Leo Boucher, Brian and Roland Roy out of high school for the famous Sunday "B" league. He then had to wait 12 years for them to turn age 35 so he could play hockey with them again. Favorite hockey moment: Meeting, losing a face off to, and taking an elbow from fellow Olde Knight Jean-Guy Gagnon in the 1992 Rhode Island Tournament. |
